Playlist Export App Reviews

Massive time saver!

I have over 200 custom playlists I needed to export and then reimport into a new iTunes library (my old one was corrupt). This $5 app SAVED the day… iTunes will only let you export them (1) at a time. Youve got to be kidding me! Well…for $5…SOLD. This app worked perfectly! It took me about 10 minutes to export all 200 manually by selecting them…then drag/drop back into iTunes. Theyre all there now… What a time saver. Thanks a lot!

Thanks!

This is a must! Huge time saver! I no longer have to transfer my music manually to my sd card (used on my car). I do have a suggestion (someone else suggested as well and maybe its asking for too much), it would be nice have full sync, like when you delete a song from the playlist, have it deleted for you… Either way thanks Eric!

Works great but has a few glitches too

Im pleased to say it works as advertised so I wont repeat that. If the glitches I mention below get fixed I would give this app 5-stars. I wish there was a help button that provided more detail than the fly-over comments for each selectable field. Here are the glitches I encountered. If you are copying more data than the receiving media can handle a window will appear showing all tracks that werent copied. Thats good but… there are no window controls (red, yellow, green buttons in top left corner of the files-not-copied information window) so there is no way to close the information window or stop the application. The application window has the three control buttons but once youve started copying they are greyed out and unuseable, again making it impossible to stop or close the application. I had to use the Force Quit menu item in the Apple drop-down menu to stop/quit the application once the Files-not-copied information window appeared.

Definitely an uber time saver

Worked like a charm - save yourself a whole bunch of time and buy this app. If you try to do a Google search for "exportig multiple playlists" you will waste ungodly numbers of hours reading post comments from people chastising you for having lots of playlists because iTunes already does (…blah blah blah). I have lots of custom playlists -- why? Because I have lots of different music and I combine music from different styles, eras, genres into my own playlists. No automatic searching or categorizing can match this human element. When you need/want to move things over to another computer -- this app will be a lifesaver.

Works wonderful on Synology NAS and Sonos

This program works well with iTunes > Synology NAS Music Server > Sonos configurations .. Eric responded a few months ago to my request to use with itunes match enabled and this update works great! Thanks, Eric, for such a well-designed and executed product.

This does exactly what I need

This application does exactly what I was looking for. I am putting my iTunes music library on a USB flash drive to play in my car, so I will not need to hook and unhook my iPod whenever I drive somewhere. Most of the time I listen to my music by playlists instead of by artist or album, and I wanted to still be able to do that with the USB flash drive. I tried creating some .m3u playlists manually by exporting my playlists from iTunes, and that was way too time-consuming. This application creates the .m3u playlists quickly and easily. I like the Advanced View with the path find/replace option that lets me fine-tune the song paths to the directory structure I am using on the USB drive.

Path Find/Replace does not work.

The one feature I need to work and it doesnt, hence my full Mac path is in all my playlists and I have to edit it out from all exports. When did this break? Search value I used was UsersmymacMusiciTunesiTunes Music and replace was How hard is that ?

Audi MMI - exporting to SD card

I have upgraded my rating due to fact that latest version of Audi MMI (on 2013 models) do recognize .m4a files and playing them ok but you have to navigate upwards through folders in order to reach Playlists listings on SD card. Developer could add some additional options for Copy Music Tracks functions, like: album/song/artist/year/genre. This may add functionality to get Playlist immediately on MMI (maybe on other Multimedia players as well).

Excellent!

After having all kinds of problems getting my playlist on a thumb drive for my Jeep, someone in the jeep forum turned me on to this app. Worked perfect and took care of all my hassles. Worth the five bucks for sure. Thanks for creating it.

Awesome!

I have spent nearly an hour trying to get my Sony CMT-MX700Ni to stream music from my Mac. I found Serviio, which allows the stereo to accept the Mac as a server, and it picked up the two Windows Media Playlists I’d created a while ago. Then I found the Sony Network Remote which allows me to control the stereo with my iPhone, but it still wasn’t picking up my current playlist… And of course, that is the one I wanted! Searching for something led me here, and it was less than 5 minutes from download to running. It probably would have been even less time if I’d realized I needed to tell it to export the music file and not just the title. Definitely worth $5. The stereo was a pain to use with Windows, and didn’t get used often. I was actually annoyed that I bought it instead of something less expensive… maybe it will get used more often now! (And, I don’t often write reviews. When I do, I never give 5 stars unless the item REALLY deserves that kind of accolade!)

Export to SD card for UConnect radios.

My Jeep’s UConnect radio uses an SD card to store music files and understands m3u playlists. This utility makes selecting music from my iTunes library for my car increadibly easy. Just create one or more playlists in iTunes with your favorite music and use Playlist Export to export both the playlist and the music files to the SD card and your ready to roll.

playlists not compatible with entry-level Ford SYNC

M3U playlists created by this program are not recognized by 2014 Ford F-150 STX SYNC stereo (non-touch). Display states “bad playlist”. Attempted various modifications to playlist file, and directory structure, without success.

Excellent software, works like a charm..

alows you to export files and create playlists to be used in 3rd party devices. the only suggestion is to create a more userfriendly export dialog for non computer savvy people

Amazingly easy!

I bought this app a couple of weeks ago. It works beautifully and easily. I can export my iTunes smart playlists without any glitches at all. Im using a USB stick PNY 128 GB to store my music and play it in my Prius V. I cannot say anything other than this: perfect! The app does the job well.

Exactly what I needed

This is exactly what I needed to export my playlists to an sd card to use in my 2014 Ford C-Max with MyFord Touch. The only trick I found was that I needed to export everything to the root directory of the sd card, but that’s a quirk of the car system not of this program. I could have manually edited the path in the m3u files that iTunes exports, but with 32gb of music on the card, I’m happy to pay for this utility.

4 tries later I give up

tried 4 times and 50% and less was converted to mp3. Time for apps to have a trial period so they can be tested first.

Wish I had found this one first- Works great!!!

This is my first review of an app because I had to provide a review for a product that did exactly what it advertised and did so flawlessly. I searched web posts from many different sites and eventually came across one mentioning this app. It was the second app I tried (I paid $5 for another “script” app that I would give 2 out 5 stars). Download and installation were easy, and the transfer of my playlists and files was easy. On my first attempt I noticed only my playlists transfered over to my SD card. The 2 second transfer was an easy give-away. So I looked a bit more closely and saw the option to tranfer files had not been selected. Once I did that it worked perfectly. Used a 16GB SD card on my iMac and put the SD card in my 2014 Mercedes E350.

I tried to use it but I dont understand it.

I dont recommend this app. I dont understant it. I lost 4.99U$. I purchased the other one, Export for Itunes and works great.

works very well

I am using this to export playlists and my entire library to my audis media player. Works very well, and I like the configurability of the different options. The only problem I found it was a very minor issue with bands having a ‘/‘ in the name, which causes the ‘/‘ to be interpreted as another directory. That’s just a minor annoyance however, and overall the program works flawlessly.

works great

I have the latest version of iTunes and OS and created playlists and exported them to an external drive. I then imported these songs to my car hard drive. All playlists and songs and other data worked just great. Works as advertised.
