I cannot export to a mounted Windows share, as the application cannot create directories. I can create directories via Terminal as well as Finder.
I tried using a flash drive to transfer my itunes music to the idrive on my new BMW and after hours of being unsuccesfful I came accross a chatroom recommending this app. I was frustrated and didnt have much to lose so I purchased it and am SO happy I did. Its very simple and converted my files from itunes onto the flash drive so that my car could read it. It took around 20 minutes to convert a few hundred songs, and then another 20 minutes to load them onto my car. If you are looking for an easy and quick fix to convert your itunes music, here it is! Thank You!
Used to copy selected iTunes (V 12) music and playlists to an SDXC 64GB card for use with a VW MK7 Golf Discover Pro Infotainment system. Simple and fast. Copied over 1,600 tunes and about 100 playlists to the SDXC card in 20 minutes. Worked first time. I can now leave the SDXC card in the car and play music via playlists. It also means I don’t need to connect my iPhone/iPod or use CDs. Playlist Export saved me the trouble of learning how to use iTunes Export or the hours required to develop something. Highly recommended.
Sometimes a little program is worth a lot. Ever tried exporting itunes music and playlists so they could be played in another environment, like a car, or a media server, or maybe a windows pc…Well if you take a little bit of time to figure out how this program exports, maybe through a few tests….it can do the format you need;simple playlist, playlist with music or playlist with music in folders by artist, album, etc. Its fast but you just need to know a little bit about how your other program or server needs to have the format set up. Then adjust the output and it works great. Highly recommend. Not super polished, but a real time saver!
help! TOO MUCH SLOW TO COPY! HOURS FOR A PLAYLIST! why?
Thanks to the programmer, and shame on Apple for now having such a useful tool natively implemented in iTunes.
I used this to write four playlists (over 1,000 songs) to the RNS310 radio in my VW Golf. It works perfectly using the “Copy to Artist/Album folders” setting. I couldn’t get it to work on the "Copy Music to Playlist folders” setting. But, that’s not what I wanted to do anyway. So, I’m very happy. I copied it to a 32gb SDHC card, and it works great in my car.
I have been looking for something like this for a while. Very easy to use, and the options provide a ton of control.
Finally an easy way to share playlists with my friends. 5 stars. Very easy to use user interface.
I was finally able to create playlists for my Garmin Zumo 550 GPS unit that I use for tunes on my Harley touring motorcycle. This is a big deal! It worked great and was a perfect solution for my needs. We GPS users, like those of us who use the Garmins and TomToms, are a good market for this product. Everyone who has one of these units (or any other MP3 player for that matter) complain that they cannot create playlists directly from their I-tunes because the playlist that is created points back to your hardrive as the source for the song files thereby making it useless. This makes no sense when you are adding your song files to an SD card to use in another device. At last, someone who is smart enough to have addressed this. Thanks for solving this dilemma for me and so many others. Now the albums that I play have their songs presented in the same order in which the artist intended them to be.. not alphebetically. My playlist are now in the correct order too... not alphebetical. Thank you!
Program has a severe memory leak. Processing large batches of Apple Lossless files, consumed 7GB of RAM and brought the system to a halt only a fraction of the way through the playlist. No need for this to happen. Otherwise the program is good if youre going to deal with small batches but large batches of even 1000 tracks using apple lossless audio caused the program to be unusable. It also seems to freeze if you press the cancel button often times.
I have recently purchased a Sonos music system. This tool is perfect for dumping iTunes playlists to .m3u that Sonos can create. Tool is simple and easy to use. Great for changing the path of your music in playlists so that other devices can use iTunes playlists.
This is a fantastic app for recreating iTunes playlists on third party music players. I use a Synology DiskStation network attached server to hold all of my iTunes files and media, and access it from any computer on the local network. The music can also be accessed on the NAS via a web browser using Synologys AudioStation. The problem has been that making playlists in AudioStation is quite tedious as only 150 of my 33,000 tracks can be displayed at a time. Thus, reconstructing a 500 song iTunes playlist would take HOURS. I now have a very elegant way of of doing this in SECONDS with PlaylistExport. When I had a question regarding the proper filepaths on my server I was surprised at how quickly I received support. This one of few products that, for me, has value way beyond the measly 3 bucks I paid for it. Highly recommended!
This app does just what I want. It allows me to share my music and playlists with my many devices. It works flawlessly!
This just made a tedious task simple. Super simple. Allows my household to share a single directory (on a nas) that is read by my squeezebox server. Now we can keep seperate itunes libraries (pointed to the same music on the nas) but each member of the household can create their own playlists. And theyre instantly picked up by the SB Server. Perfect!! Developer support was off the charts helpful as well.
This is exactly what I needed! I have 2 x 16Gb SD cards I wanted to sync music to, so I created a 32Gb smart-playlist in iTunes with all the criteria I wanted for the music I wanted to sync, then created two separate playlists for each SD card referencing the original playlist, and used the new SD1 & SD2 smart-playlists as the basis for the sync. Thank you Eric for a great app!! And thank you iTunes for smart-playlists and smart-playlists inside a smart-playlist! :)
Exactly what I needed to export iTunes plalists and copy MP3 files to a USB stick. Plays in the car just wonderfully. Bonus for allowing us to deselect .m4a or other non .mp3 files that confuse some systems. Also much much much (much!) easier and cleaner to use than the Adobe Air iTunes Export scripts.
Hi: This is the first time I actually had something wrong with the app, contacted the developer, I personally helped him and guess what, Eric is awesome, not only he fixed the app, he made it better and took my coments for future enhancements, this is how all the developers creating apps should be, I give it a 5 star rating and I can tell you, this program managed to export my fill 12,000 song library with simple settings!!
Exactly what I needed to export my itunes playlist to my synology DS audio station. I would be thrilled if the app could monitor my playlists and automatically export.
